10 Digit Dialing Configuration (Webtv)
At this point you will see all the information for calling CityNet. The only entry that you need to change is the primary dialup modem access number. The backup (or secondary) dialing number can be left blank. There is no need to change any other settings. Locate the entry for the "primary dialup modem access number." You will see a phone number already listed. Write this number down so you will remember it. Use your "delete" key to completely clear the "primary dialup modem access number" information. Using the phone number you discovered in Step 7, enter the area code followed by the seven digit phone number. There is no need to use hyphens, spaces, parenthesis, or any other notation. If you are not sure which number your computer uses to call CityNet, or if you do not know the area code, refer to the following list:
If you would like to see some examples, click here. Near the bottom of the screen, select "Done." You will be returned to the "Dialing Options" screen. Scroll down (if you need to) until you find "Connect" near the bottom right section of the screen. Select "Connect." Depending on your Webtv unit, your Webtv will then dial Webtv's 1800 number and then dial CityNet, or it will simply dial CityNet directly. If you need further instruction, CityNet offers technical support Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm: (412) 481-5406 or email | |||||||
